news![]() In 2011, Rochelle-R. E. Magno established ‘The Lash Gallery‘ a boutique salon offering personalized beauty treatments. In just 8 years, through perseverance and hard work, she now has three locations. Her VIP clients include radio personality Angela Yee and hip-hop legend Roxanne Shante. Allow NYNJ to show you how she followed her passion, overcame obstacles and built up her brand.
Before starting her own business Rochelle worked in TV production, mostly reality shows and worked as a Production Assistant, Clearance Assistant, and Assistant to the Producer. “I really enjoyed television, it was fast-paced and certainly fun, but my health made me rethink my situation. I was overworked and it took a toll on me” says Rochelle. During that time, I’ve started my lash career and organically, my clients started to grow. As I balanced both careers, my body told me I had to choose one. It was a hard pill swallow but It was the best decision I’ve made overall.” “Do the hard things, until they become easy”When asked about what she has overcome? Rochelle said “There will be a lot of things that will discourage you, continue to do your part, no matter how hard it gets. Do not stop until you get to your goal. Success comes from consistency. So do the hard things, until they become easy. Trust the process but in the meantime focus on your personal growth and don’t allow any distractions from getting you to your next level. The fun, will come along with it”
After approximately 4 years of doing lashes on the side, she took a leap of faith and opened up her first location in Manhattan at 551 5th Avenue #525, NY, NY 10176. The results were an immediate success. She was consistently busy on a regular days and booked up during the Holidays. So much so, that she opened up a second and third location in New Jersey, 93 Erie Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 (Harsimus Cove) as well as her latest location in Millstone Township.
Think Rochelle is content with 3 locations? Think again, she foresees The Lash Galleryexpanding, going beyond just providing a beauty service, but evolving in other ways to contribute in finding solutions in the beauty industry. “The Lash Gallery” has become a certain lifestyles for people, just like getting your hair colored and getting a manicure or a pedicure. By Aida Toro. Sep 28, 2018 When the month of September hits, many want a new look simply because they want to feel different, yet beautiful for the up and coming season. Some may want to try out microblading on their eyebrows while some may want to remove their cosmetic tattoo. In that case, Rochelle Magno is here to assist. Magno is the founder of The Lash Gallery, a boutique service that offers personalized beauty treatments in semi-permanent lash extension, microblading, permanent makeup, cosmetic tattoo removal, and scar corrections. “I’m a minority woman and owner of a small business since 2011, with locations in New York City and Central New Jersey,” said Magno. “Though my cosmetic beauty enhancement services can be considered a luxury, I’ve been fortunate and able to pay it forward as a portion of my clientele has come to use my services as somewhat of a self-esteem booster.”
“I gained more experience working in various reality shows, and obtained a lot of knowledge. Thereafter I advanced in different positions in television. It was during that same time that I started The Lash Gallery,” she said.
Although she was working in television, Magno still had an itch to work in the beauty industry and the creative end. Therefore, she worked on focusing her technique as a Lash Stylist during her downtime between television shows. “I'm very good with my hands and I certainly have an eye for certain things,” said Magno. “I challenged myself with different techniques, attended more classes, and perfected my application till I could say: ‘now that's a lash application’. I believe in the overall structure, neatness while focusing on cleanliness, hygiene, and design, which allowed me to feed my creativeness.” Ever since launching The Lash Gallery in 2011, Magno has catered to domestic violence victims, half-way house residences, cancer survivors and to those who have suffered from injuries or other scars and deformation. “It was approximately four or five years ago when I first encountered my cancer client,” said Magno. “I received a call from a woman named Debi, which mentioned she was just diagnosed with breast cancer.” Just like any cosmetologist, Magno was taught to work with individuals with hair, as opposed to those who don’t have hair or are simply losing it. “Hearing the desperateness of her voice, I offered to work with her,” said Magno. “I told her I wouldn't be able to apply lash extensions once her natural lashes fell off. I wasn't too familiar with the stages of how the body reacts after chemo and radiation. I wanted her to understand I couldn't promise her anything, but maybe I could assist in finding other options.” Through the trials and errors of finding brow makeup, temporary tattoos, strip lashes and so forth while working with Debi for a few months, Magno was still unsatisfied. She still had not discovered techniques or solutions for her client. Debi, however, thought the opposite because she felt it was enough for her, even though it was a temporary solution. “Being the perfectionist I am, I still felt that I failed her,” said Magno. “But her smile assured me otherwise, which was enough satisfaction for me.” After working with Debi, she started experimenting with other techniques and products. Hopefully, these would be resources other stylists could use to assist those that are ill or have already recovered from their illnesses. The product and tool are still pending, mentioned Magno. Magno will be opening up another Lash Gallery location in Jersey City, New Jersey this fall. “I look forward to having a presence in a place that has been great to me,” she said. “I have awesome support from everyone here. What better place could I consider home?” Although she has locations in Manhattan and Millstone Township in New Jersey, the location in Jersey City will be special, as Magno has been residing in Jersey City for seven years. “I've resided in Jersey City, and developed more friends by meeting the local folks and business in the area,” she said. “While I have clients, friends, and family that live here as well, it was the catalyst for my decision to open my third location.” How To Avoid A Microblading Disaster
What you should know before getting your eyebrows Microbladed. Posted on March 12, 2018, at 4:59 p.m. Eyebrows are all the rage in the beauty world. In the turn of the century we’ve experienced various eyebrow fads and trends that have likely turned many heads. From the early 2000’s pencil-thin eyebrows to the now more natural fuller look and cosmetic appliqués, we are obsessed with experimenting with different looks in order to stay trendy. With the beauty industry always evolving, it is no surprise that Microblading began to catch the attention of many beauty mavens. Only brought into the Western beauty world almost a decade ago, this semi-permanent eyebrow coloration fits perfectly into today’s “naturally thick” eyebrow look. Microbladed eyebrows are perfect for those who want a long lasting perfectly shaped and shaded look without the daily work, or those who are experiencing hair loss in the brow area due to aging, alopecia, or related situations. Some of the amazing things about Microblading is that it does not discriminate in age; anyone from 18 years old and up can spruce up their eyebrows with Microblading. The results can last for 12 to 18 months depending on the composition of your skin; however, your regular beauty regiments and daily activities can play a crucial role in the lifespan of the procedure. There is much to consider before making the final decision. As consumers, it is important to properly educate ourselves before making a purchase (especially an expensive one). On average Microblading can cost anywhere from $600-$1200. Most likely what $600 and less gets you... It’s beneficial to become familiar with correct Microblading facts that will help with your decision. Factors such as the difference between Microblading and Cosmetic Tattooing; different techniques used; the effects of your skin type on the ending results, etc. are all things to be knowledgeable about.
Microblading goals... In summary, do your homework and don’t base your decision on cost. Microblading is not like any other Cosmetic procedure, it is an investment worth looking into if you want it done

BENEATH THE SURFACEBELISA SILVA Until receiving lash extensions from Urban Retreat in Minneapolis a year ago, Kaki Ronning, a health and beauty buyer at e-commerce company Bluestem Brands Inc., struggled constantly with crumbly mascara and the eye irritation it caused. Now, she visits the med spa bimonthly to maintain lustrous lashes without hassle. “It has literally saved me 30 minutes in the morning. I don’t have to put on mascara and eyeliner. It is one of those things that I will pay a little more for rather than to have to worry about putting mascara on every day, if not twice a day,” says Ronning. “I get a lot of compliments. Everyone always asks me if these are my real lashes.” Her mascara purchases have cratered from eight tubes a year to one to two for bottom-lash application only. Akindra Daniels, a senior internal audit manager for New York hedge funds, is a kindred spirit in moving on from mascara. Until seven years ago, when she became a client of The Lash Gallery, Daniels tried countless mascara from brands as varied as Chanel and Maybelline, and never liked any. The lash extensions perform how she’d hoped mascara would, and she’s happy to pay for lash sets monthly to avoid disappointing tubes of lash lacquer. “Mascara and fake lashes are a mess, and extensions are very clean, and you get what you want from volume to shape,” says Daniels. Her mascara hunting is history. “It would have to be magic,” laughs Daniels of a mascara that would reverse her extension dependence. “In one stroke, it would have to look exactly like my lash extensions, and I’m telling you, I’ve never found it.” Mascara, beauty industry royalty that’s perennially reigned over makeup shelves, is facing insurgents in the lash-enhancing territory. These insurgents are winning over the eyelids of women not afraid to abandon tried-and-true products for high-octane replacements. On city streets, social-media feeds and dating apps, lash extensions and falsies are what’s getting noticed with mascara often meek in comparison. If not a revolution, then certainly a mascara protest is taking place in leading beauty circles. Mascara isn’t giving up its noble status without a fight, of course. The toothy wand has stayed a beauty staple as sales of other cosmetics items rise and fall with seasons, consumer habits and trends. According to The NPD Group, mascara was the most commonly bought color cosmetic over the last three years and is the second largest product sub-category within the eye makeup category, capturing a quarter of sales. Almost 80% of makeup users wear mascara. Mascara’s popularity stems from affordability, ubiquity, ease, universality and distaste for puny lashes. Nearly 70% percent of mascara customers repurchase mascara two to five times annually. But convenience, mascara mishaps, a desire for bold looks and social media influencer recommendations are propelling women like Ronning and Daniels to turn to mascara alternatives. Interest in lash extensions, regularly priced above $100 for a set that lasts about a month, is skyrocketing (check out the lash extension destinations spreading across the country such as The Lash Lounge and Amazing Lash Studio), and false lashes are proliferating on peepers. Mascara sales haven’t been affected substantially by substitute lash enhancers yet, but numbers show slippage. For the 12 months ending June 2017, growth of mascara sales, which totaled $566 million in the prestige market domestically, slowed to 8% from 12% in the similar prior period. Although U.S. prestige sales of false eyelashes, at $16.8 million, aren’t as dramatic as their impact on faces, they jumped 9% to best mascara growth in the most recent 12-month span. The fake eye fringe market has made an impression. Making a serious dent in the sales of a cosmetic giant would take a full-scale consumer revolt. Larissa Jensen, executive director and beauty industry analyst at The NPD Group, suggests supremely creative launches are required for falsies to contend with mascara. However, she detects market shifts in favor of mascara rivals. “Consumers are demanding procedures that are semi-permanent, worth the money and fit their busy lifestyles as opposed to applying the same product every day,” says Jensen, adding that 85 percent of makeup users seek long-wear options. Rochelle-R.E. Magno, founder of The Lash Gallery, where she charges about 10 clients a day $500 for extension services, believes younger generations of beauty consumers are definitely trading mascara for longer-lasting choices. “They prefer the perfect look of the lashes versus the buildup of mascara to achieve the long and voluminous lash look,” she says. Customers, she reports, tell her, “’I would like to have the same lashes as Kim Kardashian or Kylie Jenner,’ and instantly pass me an image of them to provide the description.” Diva Lashes, which feature multiple lashes attached to one natural lash, is the Kardashian-appropriate extension service offered by Magno. Social media has played an outsized role in elevating false lashes. Tribe Dynamicsreveals fake lash brands yield considerable EMV or earned media value, a metric measuring the value of social media marketing, by leveraging influencers posting frequently for enthusiast audiences. Founded by reality television star Lilly Ghalichi, Lilly Lashes was one of the 50 fastest-growing brands in EMV last year. Another false lash authority, Huda Beauty, has repeatedly been ranked by Tribe Dynamics as a top 10 EMV-earning makeup brand along with social media heavyweights Anastasia Beverly Hills, NYX, MAC and Benefit. One Two Cosmetics is betting social media can spread its message promoting magnetic eyelash extensions. “I’m always finding looks I want to try on Instagram and a large portion of our customers find One Two Lash via social media,” says Katy Stoka, founder of One Two Cosmetics. “Also, celebrities and beauty bloggers are all over our social media feeds looking glamorous. We’re seeing them up close more than ever before and want to get the same looks. With so much of our own lives being documented on social media, I think there’s a desire to feel camera ready all the time.” E.L.F. Cosmetics and Lash Star Beauty are capitalizing on the falsie phenomenon, too. Sales of fake eyelashes are growing faster than mascara at E.L.F. The mass beauty brand’s collaboration on flirty fake lashes with influencer Weylie Hoang has been a hit. “Consumers have been loving the false lash look primarily due to the increase in collaborations and how instantly glam your look becomes once lashes are applied,” says Achelle Richards, global artistic director at E.L.F. Lash Star Beauty, a year-old brand that sells 10 styles of lashes, is entering Bloomingdale’s, Bluemercury, Neiman Marcus and Dillard’s this year. “Celebrities and beauty bloggers are all over our social media feeds looking glamorous. We’re seeing them up close more than ever before and want to get the same looks,” says Stoka of One Two Cosmetics. “With so much of our own lives being documented on social media, I think there’s a desire to feel camera ready all the time.” Despite Instagram buzz, extensions and false lashes often lose out to mascara on cost and application. Mascara doesn’t mandate adhesives or salon trips. Jensen thinks lash imitators won’t be a real competitor to mascara unless they address those hurdles.“Within false eyelashes, there is still a challenge that brands face with regards to education. While consumers feel these products look great, they are unsure of how to apply them and feel such is too difficult, much like we have seen their relationship with contouring products,” she says. “Mascara, on the other hand, is straightforward in its application and is viewed by consumers as a must in their daily makeup application routine.” Mascara manufacturers sense false lashes and lash extensions are making inroads, and they’re attempting to stave off the encroachment by releasing products mimicking the fake lash look. Today’s extension-inspired crop of mascaras include False Lash Superstar X-Fiber mascara by L’Oréal Paris, Physician’s Formula Eye Booster Instant Lash Extension Kit, Maybelline’s The Falsies Push-Up Drama, Soap & Glory Thick & Fast HD Mascara, Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara and NYX Professional Makeup Double StackedMascara. “Mascaras that are volumizing [for e.g., Too Faced Better Than Sex] and lengthening [Benefit They’re Real! Mascara] as well as products that serve as mascara primers to enhance the mascara’s effect [Lancôme CILS Booster] continue to resonate with consumers looking for quality and long-lasting effects,” says Jensen. Orla Maguire Moore, co-founder and executive director of Lash Star Beauty, which sells mascara in addition to fake lashes, agrees that mascara isn’t fading. “There is always room for mascara, some people like to add a touch of mascara to boost and volumize their extensions and with the increased number of women wearing extensions, they are still using mascara for their bottom lashes to accentuate the extensions even more,” says Moore. Mascara’s rule over the beauty industry won’t end unless lash extensions become “a permanent solution that is at an approachable price point,” says Jensen. She asserts the mascara “sub-segment remains healthy.” Ronning, Daniels and Iman Oubou, who was Miss New York US 2015 and is founder of SWAAY Media, aren’t letting mascara’s dominance convince them to return to the wand. “I’ll buy a cool mascara that I want to try here and there, but it’s no longer something in my bag everyday,” says Oubou. “My standards are higher for mascaras that can compete with these amazing extensions I have on now.” TAKEAWAYS
Vacation Beauty Bomb: Lash Extensions and Eyebrow Tinting at The Lash Gallery with Rochelle-R.E. Magno
JUNE 8, 2017 by CLAIRE Happy Thursday, folks! So as I wrote here, I’m going to Haiti this weekend for an Artisan, Fashion, and Agriculture press trip. When I travel, I never want to be bothered with lots of makeup or maintenance, so I decided to get lash extensions and eyebrow tinting at the Lash Gallery (205 E 16th St, New York, NY 10003). Peep the before and after: Bam!
I opted for eyebrow tinting ($20) vs. microblading ($800) because my skin keloids and microblading is basically a tattoo! My brows were tinted using a Henna product and should last a week. My lashes, which cost $400 for your first session and $125 for touch ups, should last 2-4 weeks.
I would not recommend you take an HD picture with no makeup on! But I do recommend you pop by the Lash Gallery if you plan to travel or would just like a fun summer look with little effort. You can literally wake up: flawless. Or at least better than normal! LOL.
Visit their site here to schedule your appointment. Ask for Dr. Rochelle R.E. Magno and tell her I sent you! ![]() April 29, 2017 Rochelle Magno
In a world brimming with beauty products, differentiating yourself is a challenge. For me, it was about asking myself what’s important to my clients, followed by: how do I want people to perceive my company, The Lash Gallery and me? We experience different types of services from various companies. Whether you’re getting a manicure or pedicure, or receiving service when ordering food at a restaurant, it all boils down to how you feel when you are done. You will begin to pick and choose what works for you and what doesn’t, and you might reflect on what could have been done to improve the process. Knowing what’s important to you and for your clients is the foundation that cultivates your brand. It seems like products are being commoditized everywhere. Specifically in the lash industry, services are being imitated and beginning to look similar as a result of traditional barriers collapsing. You can’t survive on “me-too” products, services, and providing your clients with the same look. That approach will fail you every time. Stay clear of the assembly line if you can, because it’s about the customized experience. To sustain a competitive advantage in today’s oversaturated industry, I chose to make certain changes to break from the pack. This entails taking clients far beyond mere satisfaction. My compelling creative style keeps The Lash Gallery far ahead, while capturing the essence of enhanced beauty. That’s how I’ve set myself apart in the competitive beauty industry. Then of course it’s my passion, not losing sight of what always seems to draw me towards achieving greatness. I knew creativity and knowing the facts should be the focus. Creating not only means creating things, it’s about innovating yourself, and that’s where I believe it needs to start. Breaking from the pack wasn’t about recreating the wheel; it was about adapting to the change without losing sight of my craftsmanship. Being a Double Advanced Certified Xtreme Lash Stylist for 10 years and currently among the 300 Certified PhiBrows (Microblading) artists in the United States, I find it imperative to continue to look for the latest trends in the beauty industry. Most importantly, never stop investing in yourself; take more classes, find the best academies or trade companies in your industry and dedicate your time to growing. It’s important to cultivate what you’ve learned and master it. Clients appreciate you making the effort to customize their look, offering them a design that contributes to their beauty, not take away from it. Take the time to understand design and theory and other services that help you stand apart and incorporate that with your knowledge. Focus on all of those things because your work is the art piece being displayed in the public. Be the expert and devote the energy because people will recall the quality you consistently deliver. Lastly, get involved with the ongoing fast pace of convenience, which means embracing technology. To stay relevant, companies today must integrate technology into its overall growth strategy. Be able to gain a deeper understanding of the market trends, customer behavior, and the overall performance of your business, which will give you a competitive edge over other competitors in your industry. Having the right information on hand can empower you to work smarter, analyze data, and make changes where needed. This will foster productive discussion, which leads to empowerment and information sharing. This contributes largely to greater motivation and productivity, ensuring your clients and customers that your company is consistently challenged to do their very best while dominating their industry. February 21, 2017 | Miss Wu Harvestmagazine.net Gone are the days when the beauty supply store pencil was the only alternative for filling in over- tweezed or ruined eyebrows. The results were never consistent and if you sweated profusely, you might just rub one off without even noticing. Times have changed for the better and thankfully there are a number of ways that “on fleek” brows can be achieved without running the risk of embarrassment. Some prefer the day-to-day maintenance of a brow pencil, gel or pomade. But for those who want a longer lasting solution, microblading may be right up your alley. This technique is all the rave and has beauty artists and influencers alike raving. We talked to PhiBrow certified cosmetic tattoo artist, Rochelle Magno who gave us the rundown on microblading. Rochelle is certified in both NYC and NJ and offers microblading at The Lash Gallery. Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing that is done using the manual method. Fine hair-like strokes are implanted in the brow area to fill in and create fullness in sparse areas. When done by a trained professional, the results are natural looking and resemble real brow hairs. For men or women who have sparse brows, over-tweezed brows or even undergone any health complications like alopecia or cancer that caused brows not to grow back, microblading is a great alternative to achieve the brow they desire. Unlike traditional tattooed makeup, microblading is semi-permanent. “Because the implantation of the pigment is not as deep as the traditional tattoo, this method fades in time usually lasting between 12 to 18 months before a color refresh/ touchup is required; as opposed to permanent makeup which can last for years”. For clients who like to switch it up from time to time, microblading allows you to change your brow style once the pigment fades. Once the microblading has been done, aftercare is essential to make sure that it heals properly. During the healing process, “avoid going tanning, swimming, or wearing makeup on the affected area. It’ll take your skin 4 weeks to heal properly and then a touch-up can be done to see if any corrections or color refresh is needed”. Exfoliants, chemical peels, tanning etc., on your brow areas will fade the pigment sooner; so avoid those after receiving the semi-permanent tattoo.
If microblading sounds like something you might want to consider, be sure to book a professional who has been trained in this particular cosmetic tattoo. Ask for pictures and make sure that the facility uses sanitized tools and properly disposes of soiled instruments. Typically, the cost of microblading can be anywhere from $800-$1100; so beware of artists with too-good-to-be-true prices. Though the tattoo is semi-permanent, taking the cheaper route and booking an inexperienced artist runs the risk of having brows you’re unhappy with on your face for about a year. Choose wisely. Visit her site at www.thelashgallery.com or on Instagram/Twitter @thelashgallery. Consultations can also be made by calling (657)229-5274. Women from all over the world, whether entrepreneurs, lawyers, writers, tennis players, teachers, chefs, mothers, world travelers and breadwinners, fight to break the glass ceiling so there isn’t always enough time to add glam to their busy schedules. Wonder what’s the secret to looking and feeling glamorous like a celebrity? These simple make-up tricks that celebrities use will work perfectly for the busy woman who wants to look fabulous but is short on time.
Dreams in Heels spoke with Rochelle Magno, Founder and Lead Stylist at The Lash Gallery, to obtain her top tips used by celebrity clientele for guaranteed glam!
Here are the top 7 essentials for creating your own glam look:
· Lash extensions
Lash extensions, when applied properly by the stylist, can result in the appearance of having a wide-eyed look that will mask tired eyes. The Lash Gallery recommend maintenance from 1 to 2 times a month. Lashes can even be applied while you sleep, which is just another way to catch up on your beauty sleep!
· Hydrating Gel Patch from Xtreme Lashes
These gel patches are placed just below your eyes. They help diminish the appearance of fine lines and puffiness. Use them while you sleep and remove them in morning to help re-boost your skin, for a more youthful look (can be a great compliment to your new lashes).
· Skin Renewing Concealer
Helps conceal any problem areas for a flawless appearance, while repairing skin wherever applied.
· Bronzer
A great bronzer will give you that sun-kissed glow. It is a great way for your face to look tan all year round (like you just returned from vacation).
· Glideliner by Xtreme lashes
Eyeliner can always enhance your eye’s shape, color and appearance. The recommended Glideliner, available in 12 different colors, is designed for smooth application and long wear.
· Lipstick or Gloss
Never leave home without at least applying your favorite lip gloss. To change your whole look, try a daring color like MAC Ruby Woo for a night out on the town.

Eyelash extensions are one of the hottest beauty crazes around right now, and for good reason — who wouldn’t want to have long, full lashes 24/7? But proceed with caution; lash extensions can be unsafe when applied incorrectly, so it’s important to know what to look for before you go racing off to your nearest salon. We sat down with lash expert Rochelle Magno of The Lash Gallery to get the scoop on everything extension-related, from safety to timing to cost.
Q: Why should brides consider eyelash extensions?
A: Lash extensions give you the look of a surgical eyelift without the surgery, making you look camera-ready at all times with or without makeup. Brides have tons of things to worry about; lashes shouldn't be one of them. With a never-ending wedding to-do list, the convenience of never having to apply mascara can’t be overstated.
Q: How long before your wedding should you get extensions or have existing extensions touched up?
I would suggest getting them two to three days before your big day. Getting lashes is very relaxing — most people actually fall asleep during the process, so it’s a great chance to catch some beauty rest in the midst of the last-minute hustle and bustle.
If you’ve never had eyelash extensions before, I would recommend trying them out at least a few months before the wedding. Lash designs are not created equal, so you may want to try a few styles to see what you like best. It’s also helpful to have the lashes in place during your bridal makeup trial so you can see how they’ll complement your look.
Q: How long will the extensions last?
This can vary for each person. Factors like allergies, medications, health conditions, vitamins and overall lifestyle can influence the longevity of the extensions. Most people schedule relash appointments 2 to 4 weeks after the initial application.
Q: What qualifications should brides look for in a lash stylist?
The eyelash extension industry is in its infancy and is currently unregulated, so it's important to know that your technician has been properly trained and will enforce health and sanitary practices to the highest level. A lash stylist should have a state license and/or cosmetology license in addition to a certification from a reputable training program (Xtreme is the most well-known). Make sure you do your homework!
Q: Are there any risks involved?
If you do not select a properly trained stylist, there can be risks of infection, premature natural lash loss, irritation and permanent follicle damage that leads to balding. A trained stylist will provide a consultation to prevent any of the above from occurring. You typically lose an average of 4 to 5 lashes per day, and your lashes should stick to this cycle whether or not the extensions are attached, as long as they have been applied by a qualified stylist. One important thing to note is that your eyes should always be closed during the application process. If they’re not, you’re risking your health.
Q: How much do extensions typically cost? Should you tip your stylist?
Prices can vary based on location, type of lashes, style of lashes and level of certification. If you’re happy with the service, it's customary to provide a gratuity.

The Lash Gallery Glam
for Cancer Patients
Posted on Mar 30 2015 - 4:49pm by Chinwe Onuoha
Most women are not blessed with naturally long eyelashes, but perhaps wish they were. However, if you’ve ever visited The Lash Gallery, no one would ever know that you weren’t.
Rochelle Magno, founder and lead stylist of The Lash Gallery, provides “personalized beauty treatments in semi-permanent lash extensions,” since 2007. Magno is known for her innovative method that does not damage your natural eyelash follicle. Which might explain why she continues to reel in celebrity clients such as Angela Yee of Power 105.1, Evelyn Lozado of VH1’s Basketball Wives Miami, as well as Ramona Rizzo and Karen Gravano of VH1’s Mob Wives.
In addition to the diverse group of women that Magno and her team of experts work with, she also assists cancer patients and survivors, as well as customers with alopecia. Magno began working with cancer patients in 2013 after a woman, who lost her hair due to medical treatments, approached her with inquires of attaining eyelash extensions. Now, Magno is currently “developing a full package of signature eyelash beautification techniques for the brave women who are battling or have successfully battled cancer,” according to Bella NYC Magazine.
“Through working with cancer patients I realized how I could use my skill to change the lives of women who could use a break,” Magno said in her Bella NYC Magazinefeature story. “Their bodies go through so much with chemotherapy and if make up or eyelashes can make someone feel even 10 percent better about themselves, then that’s more than enough reasons to do it,” she continued.
Later this year Magno will be spearheading this new campaign on behalf of The Lash Gallery that is not limited to cancer patients, but available to all women. This exclusive package will carry a plethora of options, which includes a demo that will showcase how to apply makeup.
This is indeed an amazing endeavor that we will be sure to monitor as it progresses. For more information on The Lash Gallery, visit www.EyeLashGallery.com.

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 24, 2014 - MANHATTAN, N.Y. -- Rochelle Magno hails as The Lash Gallery's Lead Stylist and Consultant. Celebrities such as Ramona Rizzo, Karen Graveno (Mobwives, VH1), Kesha Nichols, Eveyln Lozado (Basketballwives of Miami, VH1) and Angela Yee (The Gossip Game, VH1/ Power 105 personality)have her to thank for their superb eye work before each filmed confessional.
While rewarding financially, the feats aforementioned pale in comparison to her contributions on behalf of enhancing the beauty of Breast Cancer survivors. Since 2012, Rochelle applies her knowledge and services to uplift their self-esteem as the beautiful women the are intended to be.
Cancer is an unfortunate occurrence in which survivors often feel they have no where to go...
Rochelle began her endeavors with a sole family whose 6 year old daughter befell the illness. Her eyelash extensions were used as a way to relax the mother, helping her to "put on a brave face" as she witnessed her daughter dealing with the emotional and physical turmoil of chemotherapy. This scenario showed Ms.Magno that she was providing so much more than a service. Rochelle became a vessel of positive reinforcement and motivation.
Winter 2013, a new client, Debi Mara, approached Rochelle with an inquiry as she was fighting through breast cancer therapy. The medical procedures were causing her follicles to shed. Eventually, sadly, Debi lost all her follicles. Rochelle remedied Debi's feelings of depression and uneasiness by teaching her to apply strip lashes, eyeliner and other various forms of eyebrow application. Every strand brought the new client closer to her own ideal of normalcy, internally and externally.
Time progressed and word of her efforts continued to spread. These attempts, in turn, continued to uplift spirits. Rochelle selflessly traversed into the darkest crevices most beauticians would hesitate or ignore, sadly.
Today, Rochelle Magno is a proud woman, raising clients self esteem by helping them to adapt through their ailment for the better, using her signature eye lash beautification techniques as the lead stylists of the Lash Gallery.
Later this year, Rochelle will be heading a new campaign on behalf of the Lash Gallery that is not limited to cancer patients but to all women. This would be an all new product line exclusively from the Lash Gallery that highlights the basic beauty package. A demo within a group or one or one setting, showcasing how to apply eyeliner, eyebrows and strip lashes. Such displays are customizable to the shape of the eye of the individual.
